About Kate

Kate was born and raised in Port Perry, Ontario. She loved basketball from as young as she can remember, and she truly believes she has the next best job to being a pro athlete!

She made her debut on TSN in December 2009.

In 2013 Kate was moved to full-time anchor of the morning loop edition of SportsCentre. The following year Kate was paired with co-host Natasha Staniszewski forming SportsCentre’s first-ever female anchor team!

Kate is currently the host for all Toronto Raptors broadcasts on TSN and the host of the CFL on TSN. Throughout her nearly 12 years at TSN she hosted many marquee sports events, including TSN Olympic Morning in 2012, CBC Olympic hockey in PyeongChang in 2018 and Beijing in 2022, 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, NCAA March Madness, the NBA Draft and the Grey Cup.

In July 2017, she founded and hosted the first HER MARK Summit, an empowering day for the next generation of female leaders that features keynote speakers, athletes and educational panels for hand-picked female high school students. The summit has had 5 in-person events and one special on TSN. In 2022 Her Mark was granted charity status in Canada, and in her free time, Kate is the charity’s CEO.

For her outstanding work as a Canadian television sportscaster and her dedication as a role model to inspire the next generation of female leaders, Ontario Tech University awarded Kate an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws. Kate was the first graduate of the university to receive an honorary degree.
