Originating from Toronto, Canada, Kardinal Offishall has become an icon in the global music scene. He has collaborated with the world’s biggest artists, such as Rihanna, Drake, Lady Gaga, Akon and so many others. His monster classic “Dangerous” which scorched to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, made him the first rapper from Canada to do so in history. It continues to resonate with new generations and lead to his popularity in many current spaces.
Kardinal added tv star to his repertoire, currently serving as a lead judge on Canada’s Got Talent, alongside comedy giant Howie Mandel, social media savant Lilly Singh, and WWE legend Trish Stratus. The show has been nominated for multiple awards and is currently number one across Canada.
Combining knowledge from several verticals, Kardinal earned the title as Global A&R for the world famous Def Jam records. Working directly with CEO Tunji Balogun, Kardinal is shaping the careers and working with several new artists. From Texas born, Grammy Award winning Susan Carol to Jamaican musical royalty Skip Marley, Kardinal continues to discover, develop and mentor some of the most extraordinary talent in the game.
As an artist, Kardinal has participated early on in the careers of mega producer Alex Da Kid (Imagine Dragons et al), super producer Boi-1DA, dancehall legend Vybz Kartel, UK phenom Estelle, and Sean Paul, just to name a few. Diversifying his portfolio with his executive roll and new label owner status to the already proven titles of Rapper, Producer and Philanthropist, Kardinal has earned international recognition amongst the giants of the industry. “What I do naturally as a creative allows me to also view the corporate structure with a unique lens. It is very rare that one learns how to master both the magic and science of the music industry”.
Kardinal was recently named The Canada’s Walk Of Fame Allan Slaight Music Impact honouree, The Canadian Music Week Social Justice Impact Award recipient, and is now starring in the Million Dollar Season of Canada’s Got Talent (where they are currently on season 3).
