Jean-François Carrey found himself at a crossroads at just 17, uncertain about his future. Little did he know that a year later; while traveling in Nepal, he would lay eyes on the majestic Mount Everest for the first time, igniting a passion that would shape his life.
JF obtained an international business degree at the Telfer School of Management while fundraising and training to climb Everest. At the age 24, JF achieved what many only dreams of—he became the youngest Canadian to reach the summit of the world’s highest peak. This monumental achievement was not just a personal victory but a testament to his determination and spirit. Since that historic climb, JF has dedicated himself to sharing his love for adventure by leading expeditions to incredible destinations around the globe, from the Arctic to the Antarctic.
But JF’s journey doesn’t stop with climbing. He currently serves his community as a firefighter, embodying the values of courage and service. His adventures continue as he participates in various expeditions, always seeking new challenges and experiences.
Today, JF is more than just an adventurer; he is a mentor. He guides leaders to think like adventurers, embracing change and stepping out of their comfort zones. His international speaking engagements focus on leadership and the invaluable perspectives gained from leading expeditions in vast and unpredictable environments.
