Rob Carrick

Personal Finance Columnist, The Globe & Mail
Bestselling Author, How Not to Move Back in With Your Parents

Bio

Rob Carrick has been writing about personal finance, business and economics for close to 20 years. He joined Canada’s national newspaper, The Globe and Mail, in late 1996 as an investment reporter and has been personal finance columnist since November 1998.

In previous jobs with The Canadian Press, he covered the Federal Department of Finance in Ottawa and the Bay Street business scene. Rob is married to Theresa Humphrys and they live in Ottawa with their two sons, Will and Jamie, and a dog and a cat.

Rob is an avid runner, an avid reader and a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, a fact he attributes to his roots in Toronto and not to common sense.

“The Fear of Missing Out phenomenon in the housing market is leading to bad buying decisions. First-time buyers should be much more afraid of getting into a hot real estate market.”
