About This Speaker

Dr. Naheed Dosani is a palliative care physician, health justice leader and social innovator. Through his work, he is changing how healthcare systems care for people experiencing homelessness and other forms of structural vulnerability. Most notably, he is Founder and Lead of the Palliative Education and Care for the Homeless (PEACH) Program at Inner City Health Associates. In addition, he is Medical Director at Kensington Hospice, a palliative care physician at St. Michael’s Hospital, and a Health Equity Advisor at the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer.

In academia, Dr. Dosani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and an Investigator at the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions. He also serves as Co-Director of the RADDICAL Lab (Research on Access, Dignified Death, Inclusion, Care and Love) and as a Director on the Board of the Canadian Medical Association. Across these roles, his work combines front-line care, research, education, policy and public advocacy. Together, these efforts advance models of care grounded in dignity, trust, harm reduction and radical love.

As a result of his contributions, he has received several honours. These include the Meritorious Service Cross for Humanitarianism from Canada’s Governor General and the Canadian Society of Palliative Care Physicians’ Award for Humanitarianism. Additionally, he has received the Canadian Medical Association’s Early Career Leader Award, an honorary Doctor of Laws from Ontario Tech University and the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
