Renowned for co-founding the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in Canada, her work fundamentally shifted the national conversation on justice and equity. An influential voice in Canadian media, Sandy Hudson is the co-host of the popular podcast, Sandy & Nora Talk Politics. Through her production company, she develops compelling film and television projects, with two earning official selections at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF): the film Aftercare and the CBC docuseries Black Life: Untold Stories. Sandy also provides critical analysis as a bestselling author, with a second book on racism and policing due in 2025.

Her expertise is grounded in her legal background and policy research at the UCLA School of Law. Sandy translates this strategic insight into tangible, lasting institutions. She co-founded the Wildseed Centre for Art & Activism, a first-of-its-kind Black-owned community hub in Toronto. She also co-founded the Black Legal Action Centre, a specialty legal aid clinic.
