About Georges

Fluently bilingual, Georges’ gregarious personality is matched only by the size of his heart. Known as an enforcer during his 13-year NHL career, “The Rock” is the recipient of both the King Clancy Memorial Award and the Edward J. DeBartolo Community Service Award for his community-based and international humanitarian work. He speaks passionately about his work with World Vision and the Grace Children’s Hospital in Haiti following the devastating earthquake in the country of his decent. As a prominent person of colour in the NHL, he began to confront racism in sport and continues his work as a social activist, radio talk show host and social activist and reflects on this work in his keynote.
